Easy Focaccia Recipe
This Easy Focaccia is soft, fluffy, and full of flavor with a crispy golden crust. Perfect for sandwiches, dipping in olive oil, or serving as a side to soups and salads! 🍞✨
Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ¼ cups warm water (about 110°F / 45°C)
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- ¼ cup olive oil
For the Topping:
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp coarse salt
- 1 tbsp fresh rosemary (or dried)
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Activate the Yeast
- In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
Step 2: Make the Dough
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a rough dough forms.
- Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth. (You can use a stand mixer with a dough hook).
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Step 3: Shape & Second Rise
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with olive oil.
- Press the dough into the pan, stretching it to fit.
- Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
Step 4: Add Toppings & Bake
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Drizzle olive oil over the dough. Use your fingers to poke dimples all over the surface.
- Sprinkle with salt, rosemary, and garlic powder.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
