This Easy Focaccia is soft, fluffy, and full of flavor with a crispy golden crust. Perfect for sandwiches, dipping in olive oil, or serving as a side to soups and salads! 🍞✨


Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¼ cups warm water (about 110°F / 45°C)
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup olive oil

For the Topping:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp coarse salt
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary (or dried)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Activate the Yeast

  1. In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.

Step 2: Make the Dough

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
  2. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a rough dough forms.
  3. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth. (You can use a stand mixer with a dough hook).
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Step 3: Shape & Second Rise

  1. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with olive oil.
  2. Press the dough into the pan, stretching it to fit.
  3. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.

Step 4: Add Toppings & Bake

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Drizzle olive oil over the dough. Use your fingers to poke dimples all over the surface.
  3. Sprinkle with salt, rosemary, and garlic powder.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
