Quiche aux épinards et au fromage
This Cheesy Spinach Quiche is a rich, creamy, and flavorful dish perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even dinner. Made with buttery crust, fresh spinach, eggs, and lots of cheese, this quiche is both comforting and delicious!
Ingredients (Serves 6-8)
For the Crust (or use store-bought pie crust)
- 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3-4 tbsp ice water
For the Filling
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups fresh spinach, chopped
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream (or milk for a lighter version)
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional, but adds great flavor!)
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- ½ cup parmesan cheese, grated
- ½ cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust
- In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Add cold butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough holds together.
- Form into a disk, wrap in plastic, and chill for 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough, place it in a 9-inch pie dish, trim excess edges, and poke holes with a fork.
- Pre-bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes.
2. Make the Filling
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until soft.
- Add chopped spinach and cook until wilted. Remove from heat and let cool.
- In a bowl, whisk eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Stir in the cooked spinach mixture and cheeses.
3. Assemble & Bake
- Pour the filling into the pre-baked crust.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30-35 minutes, or until the center is set.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
